ISTT announce the Education and Training Grant Program

Publicerad: 2 september, 2020

ISTT is pleased to announce the Education and Training Grant Program. The program provides financial support to Affiliated Societies’ education and training efforts. Grants will be announced by the 16 November 2020 ISTT International Council Virtual Meeting.

Grants. The ISTT Board has authorized a total of £13,000 for 2020 for this program. ISTT will award at least two grants in 2020 providing the applications received are deemed worthy to warrant support. The maximum funds available from ISTT for a proposal will be £5,000. ISTT encourages applicants to seek matching funding (cash or in-kind contributions) from the Affiliated Society itself or from external sources.

Eligibility. All ISTT Affiliated Societies in good standing are eligible to apply. An Affiliated Society may submit up to three proposals. However, only one proposal from a Society will be eligible to receive a grant. A wide variety of training activities are eligible to receive a grant including, for example, general trenchless awareness training programs, hands-on training, web-based packages, distance learning, and specific in-depth training programs.

Proposal Schedule and Format. An applicant must submit its proposal(s) by email to info@istt.com on or before 1 October 2020. A proposal should be no more than five (5) pages and should include the following: (1) a brief description of the education and training activity; (2) overall aims and objectives; (3) methodology employed for achieving the activities’ aims and objectives; (4) benefits to the Affiliated Society and the worldwide trenchless community; (5) potential technology transfer to developing trenchless communities; (6) an itemized budget; (7) details of any matching funding; and (8) implementation schedule.

Selection Process. A selection committee organized by the ISTT Membership Committee and the ISTT Executive Subcommittee (ESC) will evaluate the proposals based on the applicant’s description of the eight program elements listed above.
