Toro streamlines HDD categories

The Toro Company is rearranging its organisational structure which will include a wind down of some of its trenchless categories.

Toro announced it intends to combine certain aspects of Ditch Witch, American Augers and Trencor, all of which were part of its acquisition of Charles Machine Works earlier this year, in order to streamline its approach to the marketing sales and services functions of its business.

The company is also winding down its Toro-branded horizontal directional drill and riding trencher categories which it said was part of a move to allow it to rationalise its product offering in the underground construction market efficiently.

Toro Group Vice President Rick Rodier said the company was excited about integrating the Charles brands into its organisation.

“Throughout the ongoing integration process, we continue to be impressed by their market-leading position, strong product portfolio and best-in-class channel,” he said.

“It is these factors that have influenced our decision to concentrate on the Charles Machine Works’ product portfolio and brands in the underground product category going forward.”

The company will allocate resources to both the Toro and Charles Machine Works brands going forward.
